The Brinemarch Run

tile E

Area: The Emerald Diocese: Elvish Crater lands of the Before Before Time

Biome: Tundra with short moss blooms and sharp crystal grasses. Flatland buckled by subsurface blasts. Methane craters 100m wide fill with mirror-lakes and erratic fog. The air sometimes warps with heat illusions despite the cold.

Creatures: Massive Adaptosaurus Swan-Stags nest in the crater hollows, defending thaw lakes with gory grace.

⚠️ D. Dangers • Sudden methane release causes explosive ignition — travelers must save or be concussed/scorched • Flash-thawing ruins terrain: roll 1d6 after each long rest; on 1–2, a feature has shifted, sunk, or cracked • Heat mirages may reflect not your image but your frozen self, which attacks if approached

🎲 E. Encounter Table (1d4) 1. A mounted Ice Elf banner-knight challenges you in forgotten tongue — will duel, then vanish 2. Ice Goblings chasing a beast that does not exist 3. A crater pulses, light beneath; roll WIL or dream of falling through time 4. Slaver dogs howl and flee — something beneath is waking

Factions: • [Icemeadow Orcs]: Battle-frenzied, bone-wielding, speak a war-tongue no one but the elves remember. Fearful of the stars. • [Icemeadow Elves]: Stoic, frost-bound, wield elemental-magic that manipulates cold structures. Seek • [Saltmark Slavers]: Use the thaw sites as hunting zones. Their dogs refuse to go near the craters.

💰 G. Gains • Time-frozen iron (light, indestructible until thawed) • Gobling flute that mimics forgotten command calls • Rumor: “One Elf remembers why they were fighting. Find them, you’ll know who started the war.”

🧭 H. Horizon • East: a spit of land then the ocean • West: Volcanic escarpment spewing steam into glacier mist • South: edge still-iced plain and the thawed bogs beyond.

🏷️ I. 🪨 I: Interest Points Crater Delta Y37: Massive glacial pond, home of swarms of ice beetles. Underneath a bed of decay is a cache of Elvish warriors in Adamantium armor frozen mid-clash Lake Shore Nest: Adaptosaurus Swan-Stag eggs shimmer like foil, they grow hotter every day melting all nearby permafrost, expanding the lake creating a thick fog. The Banner Tree: A giant birch petrified by Ice Orc war-song in revenge. An elf tapestry blinks between worlds.
